FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: WHAT IS YOUR PRICING?
A: We’ve learned over the years that every celebration is different and comes with its own set of unique needs. Because of this, we quote every Intimate Wedding, Elopement, and Adventure Session on an individual basis. That said, our full service wedding collections begin at an investment of $5,600. Contact us and we can send you a more specific outline of your investment once we know more about your needs.
Q: HOW DO I CONFIRM MY Elopement DATE?
A: Once you’ve selected your date and we’ve determined your collection, we will prepare and send a photography contract for your review. We ask that you return your signed contract within about a week to ensure your date remains available. Once we receive your contract and the 50 percent photography retainer, your wedding date is officially booked! The final balance is due six weeks prior to your wedding date.
Q: DO YOU OFFER VIDEOGRAPHY?
A: We do not offer videography services, but we do take iphone footage and drone footage during your elopement or adventure session. If you are looking for a full 10-20 min professional video, we have a vendor recommendations list if needed.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO CAPTURING THE WEDDING STORY?
A: We have a very hands on, down-to-earth approach to setting up your wedding day timeline. We work with your goals to set up a timeline that ensures a smooth and enjoyable adventure. We take into account the best natural lighting, sunset times and your unique vision to curate an experience where we can easily capture all your desired photographs throughout the day with plenty of down time to decompress and be fully present for all the love. We balance art directing, details and portraits, and capturing the organic moments through documentary photojournalistic coverage. The end result is a beautiful balance of images telling the full story of your day.
Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
A: We shoot with film + digital Nikon cameras, as well as a FujiFilm 645 medium format film camera. We always bring camera, lens and memory card backups to ensure everything is in working order. Our newest addition to the family is a drone and we are very excited to offer this service.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF JENNA BROOKE GETS SICK OR HAS SOME SORT OF AN EMERGENCY RIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING?
A: Having an emergency come up immediately before a wedding is something that has not happened yet- (Knock on wood)- and an unpleasant thought for everyone involved. Leading up to the wedding and in normal daily life, we plan our lives carefully to ensure our health is in top form and that we have plenty of travel time. Should Jenna Brooke not be able to attend, we will do our best to arrange a replacement photographer of equal caliber and style — We have a strong network of photographers to aid in such a circumstance. Alternatively, we would refund your full investment and allow you to make arrangements of you so choose.
Q: WHERE DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH ELOPEMENTS AND WEDDINGS?
A: We specialize in elopements and weddings abroad, so we're happy to travel to any destination you choose! We've photographed weddings in a variety of locations, from mountainside retreats to coastal villages and everything in between. Our favorite locations are Hawaii, New Mexico, Utah, The PNW, West Texas, and NY + international locations like the Islands of Portugal and Italy.
Q: WHAT IF IT RAINS OR THE WEATHER IS BAD ON OUR WEDDING DAY?
A: We know that the weather can be unpredictable, especially when you're planning an outdoor wedding. We believe rain can be a beautiful moment for some amazing, in the moment, images to be created. In the event of rain or other inclement weather, we'll work with your planner to come up with a plan B & C, and make sure you still have beautiful photos to remember your special day. Should inclimate weather threaten your wedding day to the point of needing to reschedule—each wedding and each situation is unique, and that's how we handle them. But know this, we’re your partner and friend through it all.
Q: HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE RECEIVE?
A: The number of photos you receive will depend on the length of your elopement or wedding, as well as other factors such as the number of guests, locations and the size of your wedding party. We typically deliver 75-100 photos per hour of coverage.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?
A: Our work is focused on creating fine art with quality products. We have a major passion for details, we carefully curate each project we photograph. Shooting film has slower turn around times, but the wait is worth the effort. Turnaround time for Engagement or Adventure sessions is 4 to 6 weeks. Turnaround times for Intimate Wedding or Elopement images is 8 to 10 weeks.
Q: IS TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION INCLUDED IN YOUR PRICING?
A: For our Intimate Wedding and Elopement Packages, we have calculated a price that includes all travel so you don’t have to worry about us when you’re planning your day. In special circumstances, the price may change due to an increase in travel costs. We handle all of our own travel arrangements unless otherwise specified.
Q: DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND SHOOTER?
A: I work with second shooters on a wedding to wedding basis. I always have a second shooter on larger weddings, over 200 guests and on larger venues, as this makes it easier for us to capture everything that is going on in your day. We don’t want to miss a moment. For smaller weddings and elopements, we work with an assistant that helps the timeline run effortlessly with a heavy focus on details.
Q: DO YOU SHOOT FILM OR DIGITAL?
A: Both! I shoot mainly digital and minimally film. Film is great for high lit situations and brings beauty and character to moments while digital is great for low light and late night captures. All film and digital images are processed and cohesively presented together
Q: WHEN WILL YOU ARRIVE TO OUR WEDDING VENUE?
A: We always plan to arrive on location at least the morning prior to the wedding or the first event we’re shooting, and often several days prior for international events. This time frame allows for any travel delays, and gives us time to get acclimated to the area, including scouting the wedding and shooting locations. During scouting, we often begin taking location and “scene” shots, which help narrate the complete story of your wedding. Once we arrive we also like to collect important details like a welcome bag, favor or other items we will be photographing in addition to the paper suite.
Q: DO YOU OFFER ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
A: Yes! We love engagement sessions because they give us a chance to get to know you as a couple and capture some beautiful photos before your wedding day. We offer engagement sessions as an add-on to our elopement and wedding packages.
Q: CAN WE PRINT AND SHARE OUR PHOTOS?
A: Absolutely! We provide a print release with all of our packages, which allows you to print and share your photos however you like. We also provide social media-ready files so you can easily share your photos on Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
